Holiday sketches

Just got back from a 10 day break in Marmaris, Turkey. I took the time to take my mind off of animating and get some life drawing practice in. Here’s just a few of the pages i worked on during my time there. Really enjoyed the holiday overall, it was nice to take my mind off of animating for a while. But i still feel like i need some down time after working solid at uni, I wanted to do a lot more but the heat was really getting to me, i’ve found its hard to relax in 37 - 40 degree heat…
On a side note, uni’s all over and ive got over 80% in all but 1 module! WOOO!!! I’m pretty much guaranteed a first class honors now but im still waiting on official confirmation. happy happy happy :)

The other day i entered the Sky ARTS ident competition. The trend with them tends to be 3D abstract animations that look really slick and smooth. I wanted to stick with 2D character animation as its something that they most likely dont see much of, but making it look elegant and stylistically similar to Sky Arts was a toughie. Here’s a few WIP GIF's from part of the animation.

My final film is slowly coming together… still, but hey ho, here’s the official film poster! I may still change a few things on this as its kind of a rushed job for a deadline, but it looks pretty enough for now.

Walkies

Recently Ive had literally no time to draw with all this constant animating. Trying to get all the rough animation for my final film done by May and hopefully it should all be finished and ready to hit the festivals by the beginning of June. Im looking to get a trailer cut quite soon as well... WOOO! Im looking into setting up a crowdfunder to try and raise money for the hefty price tag CalArts is charging where i'll be giving away signed prints, caricatures, DVD's of my films and much more in exchange for donations, so keep an eye out for that guys!!!

After all the hard work busting my ass for the past 2 and a bit years… I’VE ACTUALLY BEEN ACCEPTED INTO CALARTS!!!!!! SOOO freaking happy right now!!!! if i can some how manage to get some funding together, i am officially moving to California!!! i don’t suppose anyones got a spare 30 grand laying around do they??
